DESCRIPTION
OF ROLE
It’s a standalone role supporting the business within a wider HR team so it will be vital that the successful candidate is able to take full end to end ownership of our learning and development agenda for the whole organisation. However, you’ll be working in a supportive and skilled team so support will always be around you so we can be agile in order to flex and pull together to deliver exceptional service and people experiences.
This role will work across the business to lead the Nominet Learning and Development agenda ensuring we create, develop and introduce solutions aligned to our people strategy and critical skills, in order to ensure all team members have access to the learning and knowledge they need to perform in their roles to the best of their ability, through the management and promotion of our tools and resources.
You will develop effective development strategies covering behavioural, professional and technical development of core and critical skills across the business ensuring our skills and capabilities are fit for the current and future context of our strategic priorities.
The role will work closely with the HRBP and talent team, joining the dots and interdependencies across our people focused programmes for each function shaping challenges into simple narrative and exceptional employee experiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Clarify our critical skills and development
Work with the HRBP team and senior managers across the business to support operational and strategic planning of development needs aligned to key business objectives and customer outcomes defined in the Strategic Workforce plans across the business
Provide a clear strategy on how we develop and deliver capability improvements across our critical skills requirements
Provide an effective L&D partnering service across the business ensuring that learning solutions are cost effective and are focused on clear and measurable business needs as identified through development plans
Solution Development and delivery
Define learning and development policies and processes that support the business to deliver strategic objectives and priorities in relation to Future Talent, Critical skills, Technical , Professional Development, High performance and Career Planning.
Source development tools and resources to promote ownership of personal development across the business
Create, design and deliver learning and development initiatives aligned to support the delivery of critical skills, capabilities and development to support the business progression and development at Nominet.
Deliver modern, engaging and interactive learning solutions to managers and teams both virtually and face to face.
Support our business growth by challenging the status quo through research, design and delivery of high-quality blended training across various management programmes and on our skills development learning offer.
Facilitate internal learning events, delivering content as appropriate – principally responsible for employee onboarding and induction process working closely with BP’s, recruitment and operations team members
Career Pathways and Future Talent
You will drive a focus on how we increase technical skills and capabilities across the business in line with business priorities, appropriate career pathways and longer term strategic technical requirements
Support the development of career pathways and frameworks that provide opportunities for career development and progression and are aligned to organisation-wide development programmes and the people strategy.
Work alongside the HRD to deliver our Future Talent strategy, and ensure we are focused on developing future talent pipelines within our critical technical and project delivery teams.
Accountable for the apprenticeship levy and programme (sourcing providers, working with the talent team to identify candidates, ensuring that good coaches and mentors are allocated and providing additional pastoral care for the apprentices).
Lead the change
Develop Nominet learning and development policies, engaging with key stakeholder effectively to ensure their awareness, engagement and consistent implementation across the organisation.
Working closely with the Management community to build capability and in turn a high performance culture
Continuously drive improvements in tools and policies through external market trends, insight and internal best practice. Proactively sharing best practice, intelligence and insight within HR function.
Measuring ROI
Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of tools and policies and understand the landscape for further improvement.
Building an infrastructure that measures end to end processes, employee experience, engagement, development and return on investment.
Work with Finance colleagues to ensure any costs are managed effectively and the ROI/KPI’s are aligned
Communication
Ensure key channels are updated and engaging to drive team member interest, engagement and learning adoption.
Socialise, engage and influence management community on the importance of our development culture, building an evidence base to support time allocation of resource to development activities, taking a data focused approach to provide insight into the ROI from team member engagement
Supplier Management
Build relationships and form alliances with external partners, communities of practice and stakeholders to scan for innovations and opportunities to form partnerships and deliver development needs within the team.
Oversee the management of all third-party suppliers in conjunction with Procurement, holding contract meetings on a regular basis, reporting findings and MI to the wider HR team

Qualifications
Essential:
Level 7 CIPD qualified or equivalent
Experience of working in the technology industry
Desirable:
Degree educated , however candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
A track record of advising and developing outcome-focussed Learning and Organisation Development (L&OD) interventions to support strategic goals, organisational change and enhance talent and performance , drawing on best practice.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven coach for performance and mentoring
Extensive experience of leading, advising on the design and delivery of strategic and learning interventions to enhance performance
Experienced in contributing to medium-term planning and delivery outcomes aligned to business strategy through learning and development plans
Proven experience in the design and delivery of internal development initiatives including the introduction of an LMS or technology driven solutions
Proven experience of coaching for high performance in teams
Committed to provided an excellent employee experience.
