Senior Engineer - Customer portals at Oxa
Oxford, United Kingdom

Job Descrption

Oxa is enabling the transition to self-driving vehicles through an initial focus on the most commercially advanced sector; the autonomous shuttling of goods and people.

We are home to some of the world’s leading experts on autonomous vehicles, creating solutions such as Oxa Driver, equipping vehicles with full self-driving functionality; Oxa MetaDriver, using Generative AI to accelerate and assure the safety of deployments; and Oxa Hub, a set of cloud-based offerings for autonomous fleet management. Our technology is being deployed across the UK and the U.S, and we’re partnering with a fast-growing ecosystem of operators, vehicle OEMs and equipment makers serving autonomous transportation globally as it advances.

Based in Oxford, and with offices in Canada and the U.S, Oxa was founded in 2014 and is  growing rapidly (350+ ‘Oxbots’ to date). Our purpose is to change the way the Earth moves, through an uncompromising focus on safety, efficiency and explainability of our AI approaches. The company has attracted $225 million from leading investors so far, with $140 million raised in the last Series C funding round in January 2023.

Your team

You will be joining our Hub Platform team in the Customer Portals Stream, working to build and deploy web applications that our customers use to interface with Oxa Driver. Your focus will be on developing, operating and maintaining Hub Console Platform. The services we deploy enable developers across Oxa to get their UI applications into the hands of customers quickly. Our platform handles cross-cutting concerns such as authentication, hosting/navigation and UI design elements. You will spearhead the design, planning and implementation of a React component library. The success of the component library has a direct impact on customer and developer satisfaction. We are a cross-functional team which includes specialists in front-end and back-end development as well as security engineering. We manage our own Cloud infrastructure and deploy our own applications. The team monitors the level of our service we provide and reacts quickly to resolve issues.

Your role will involve

  • Designing, planning, implementing and maintaining  a comprehensive React component library.
  • Supporting adoption of the component library across the organisation.
  • Designing and developing secure and scalable Web applications.
  • Maintaining web applications, responding to incidents which affect customers.

    • Experience building React web applications and reusable components.
    • Experience designing, planning and leading significant pieces of work that affect multiple teams.
    • Ability to communicate designs and plans with leaders and stakeholders.
    • A desire to collaborate with other engineers to solve problems.

Extra Kudos if you have:

    • Experience building a component library
    • UI/UX design experience
    • Operating and monitoring web applications in the Cloud

Benefits

  • We provide:
    • Competitive salary, benchmarked against the market and reviewed annually
    • Hybrid and/or flexible work arrangements
    • An outstanding £2,000 flexible benefits including private medical insurance, critical illness coverage, life assurance, EAP, group income protection
    • A salary exchange pension plan
    • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
    • A pet-friendly office environment
    • Safe assigned spaces for team members with individual and diverse needs
