Hiring Our Heroes-Fire Services Manager
The Fire Services Manager is responsible for implementing fire/rescue services at the Mobile FAL and associated sites (off-site Logistics). The Fire Services Manager’s primary role is to provide oversight and direction of fire protection of the people, processes, and physical assets, for the Mobile FAL . This position will be accountable for all aspects of the fire/rescue management system. This position reports to the Sector Senior Security Manager.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION REQUIRES PARTICIPATION IN THE HIRING OUR HEROES PROGRAM.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, initiate and supervise Fire Rescue Programs: 40%
Develops and implements a fire management policy for the Mobile Manufacturing Site
Ensure that the Rescue and firefighting service meets the requirements of local, state and national regulations including IBC and NFPA codes.
Maintain control of the operational site fire/rescue services budget (Opex and Capex) and in accordance with the Mobile Manufacturing Site Head of Security Operations directives.
Identify, create and manage fire rescue response, emergency preparedness, emergency evacuations, and various drills at the Mobile FAL and off-site Logistics sites.
Manage the fire rescue supplier to ensure compliance with all Airbus policies and local, federal, airport and TSA requirements for fire and related topics.
Understand all relevant contracted fire safety KPIs as well as ensuring delivery of KPIs with monthly reviews with the SSM.
Develop an Airbus fire/rescue awareness campaign working with the Airbus Security Team for communication to the Mobile FAL and Logistics staff.
Liaise with the Global Head of Fire Governance to ensure alignment with the global view on fire safety for Airbus.
Manage the Fire/Rescue Service Provider’s preparedness for catastrophic events and security crises.
Responsible for all activities with the local contracted fire/rescue services to enhance the overall safety product by aligning contingency, protection and intervention plans.
Fire Services Manager will support the SSM to ensure the consistency and performance of the sites’ fire programs:
Design/adapt and deploy a risk management process, adapted to specific the FAL and off-site Logistics’ operational needs.
Coordinate local emergency and contingency planning exercises. In case of major events/disaster, lead the emergency and contingency first response operations.
Ensure specific fire prevention plans are in place and are effective and tested across all Mobile Manufacturing Sites
Develops and maintains relationships with local authorities as a focal point concerning fire rescue and environment matters and ensures that firefighting methods and practices are compliant with all National and Federal security rules
Identify needed fire/rescue programs and gaps in existing programs that require continual improvement, and work within the Airbus culture and mutually responsible divisions, develop policy statements, and implement programs.
Manage Program Teams & Stakeholders: 15%
Manage stakeholders expectations
Work effectively with Airbus Americas Security Country Manager, SSM and other stakeholders such as Global Fire Experts, HR, Finance, and Legal to address fire/rescue requirements and concerns
Develop relationship with FMRE to ensure harmonization between protection, prevention and intervention
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts
Communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholders
Execute, Monitor and Control: 10%
Track program milestones and deliverables
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Manage training and exercise programs
Additional Responsibilities: 10%

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
Active member of Hire Our Heroes (HOH) program: required
Bachelor's Degree : required
Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or higher certifications preferred
Knowledge of US fire regulations, local and federal laws as well as NFPA, and IBC codes.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional skill in gathering, organizing and presenting complex and/or technical fire information to senior level executives.
Travel Required:
5-10% Domestic/International
Experience:
3+ years of equivalent work experience in the fire industry: Required
3+ years experience in team management : Required
5+ years of military, state of federal law enforcement or equivalent civilian experience
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
Understanding of Industrial Fire and Emergency Response knowledge and industry best practices, and strong networking skills
Demonstrated strong organizational, time-management, leadership and strategic thinking skills
Adaptable, innovative and detail oriented.
Strong ability to network and interact with colleagues, peers, and senior executives
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including an ability to use tact and diplomacy with people at all levels to get actions accomplished.
