North Dighton/Taunton, MA – Energy Plant
Position: General Helper
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
Position Description:
- Functions as a supplier and mover of material and products for all operations and departments of the company, utilizing gas and electric forklift equipment as required.
- Primary purpose is to assist in maintaining continuity of production throughout the facility and maintain Taunton back yard and reels.
- Responsible for accurate inventory transactions using electronic scanning guns.
- Responsible for the continuous improvement in the set-up procedures.
- Will perform preventive maintenance procedures, 5S activities and participate in continuous improvement events.
- Must maintain work area in a safe and orderly condition at all times.
- Ensure that all products meet specifications and the requirements defined by the Prysmian Group Quality Management System.
- Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
- Will be required to work overtime as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English

Experience:
- Forklift experience or forklift certified preferred
- Some manufacturing experience preferred
- Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

Skills/Attributes:
- Must be able to work independently according to verbal and written instructions
- Must learn basic computer transactions and inputs; must have ability to become certified SAP User
- Must have basic math and communication skills. Must develop and maintain proficiency in required job skills
- Must be capable of lifting or moving 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting or moving 75 lbs.
- Must be able to distinguish different colors
