Introduction to role

Working closely with the Director of Key Account as Head of Performance for the Heathrow Baggage Strategic Partnership, your focus will be to lead the Value and Analytics Office to ensure the delivery of Heathrow’s short-term and longer-term strategic goals. In addition, we will need to build and develop strong relationships with our key customers and their stakeholders to ensure that Solutions and Services are developed to meet their needs and offer the best value-added service. To succeed in the Head of Performance role, you must thrive on large-scale challenges, enjoy operating in a diverse stakeholder environment, and manage complex work streams. You will also be able to formulate, deliver, and implement short—to long-term performance improvement strategies across many performance metrics, including customer (passenger), Resilience, Sustainability, Commercial, and People.

Role Responsibilities

The Head of Performance is a vital role within the Senior Leadership Team in Vanderlande, UK. Your role is to ensure a planned and coordinated approach to delivering Heathrow’s short-term and longer-term strategic goals using a data-led approach in line with internal and external governance requirements.  Your role will work closely across Vanderlande’s Solutions and Service teams, and it will be an opportunity to create and share best with the global Vanderlande organisation. There will also be a requirement to coordinate and align with the appropriate Heathrow organisations and support other partners and stakeholders, such as Airlines and Ground Handlers, to improve performance.

Your responsibilities and activities will include:

• Develop and Implement performance improvement strategies and plans to support Heathrow in achieving their strategic goals.
• Develop and lead an operational business model in which value is central to decision-making across the Solutions and Service teams in the Baggage Strategic Partnership.
• Develop evidence-based decision-making through data science, drawing on the knowledge and experience of the Strategic Partnership and stakeholders.
• Develop a joint innovation program to create a sustainable competitive advantage for Vanderlande and Heathrow.
• Lead and develop the Value and Analytics Office team, ensuring long-term capability and capacity to support Strategic Partnership.
• Lead, inspire and drive collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders, including customers, airlines, third parties and functional areas.
• Champion and drive the Achieving Customer Excellence program.
• Identify opportunities to collaborate with the global Vanderlande teams to create and share best practices that support the wider business and our customers.

Role Qualification and Skills

• Proven track record in developing and implementing multiyear strategic improvement initiatives across a broad range of metrics in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Process-driven and experienced in using continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Background in a fast-paced, complex, customer-focused logistics/manufacturing/facilities environment.
• Professional approach with excellent networking and negotiating skills.
• Professional qualifications (preferred).
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders up to senior management level.
