We have refining and chemical operations in the UK, we operate the UK’s biggest private pipeline network and we retain a non-operated share in a number of fields in the North Sea. What role you will play in our team

 

If successful you will be part of the EMGT Analytics team with responsibility for ; understanding and analysing the Naphtha / Light Ends market, identifying and capturing trade opportunities, strengthening Naphtha fundamental analysis cross regionally as part of the wider ExxonMobil trading analytics community.

What you will do

 

  • Leverage detailed market knowledge to recommend trading & origination strategies
  • Lead the development of analytical tools to improve insights from market fundamentals 
  • Communicate concisely and timely the impact of market analysis / events to the Traders
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis and presentations when required
  • Effectively collaborate with the light ends global trading / analytics teams, embracing new technologies and advanced analytics

 

About you

 

  • Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in an analytical discipline e.g. Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics (or hold other relevant industry experience)
  • Have a sound understanding of the Naphtha market fundamentals ; S&D modelling, trade flows, arbitrage, margin calculations and derivatives 
  • Proficiency / experience with data modelling and R, Python or Matlab would be beneficial (not essential)

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • Be able to produce insightful analytics leveraging :
    • Strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills
    • Innovative thinking, intellectual rigor, drive and desire to lead change
    • Technical skills, ability to manipulate large databases and visualisation tools 
       
  • Be able to demonstrate:
    • Strong, clear, precise communication & interpersonal skills 
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with internal & external customers and partners
    • A creative approach to problem solving
    • The ability to work across regions (often virtually) with multi-cultural global teams
    • Flexibility in approach in order to win as a team
