About the Role:
As a Product Development Technologist working in our Innovation Development team, who’s passion is for developing superior products that consumers drink and love, you will be responsible for flawless delivery of new and exciting liquids for our product portfolio from concept creations to implementation at factories.

You will be responsible & accountable for the successful delivery of the liquid workstream of projects as well as leading some project management activities.

You will also be leading products scale up and implementation in our Supply Chain

You will ensure robust technical expertise is applied with rigor to gain competitive advantage and ensure liquid solutions are delivered right first time.

These responsibilities will both ensure the growth of technical knowledge within the team, helping us become the leading developers of soft drinks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the liquid development of new soft drinks products from concept to commercialisation,  including lab work & Trials as well as leading on small scale initiatives e.g process improvements, flavour extensions and/ideation sessions.
2. Support our production sites by providing manufacturability guidance & contributing to continuous improvement projects.
3. Work collaboratively with the technical project team, using technical knowledge and project leadership skills to provide options, solutions and time plans which support the delivery of new products, savings and product optimisation.
4. Lead liquid scale up and implementation of new formulas in our internal and contract manufacturing facilities, on the projects you work on.
5. Ensure all project work is compliant with the Britvic technical processes and legal requirements related to soft drinks.
6. Create accurate and high-quality documentation providing an audit trail for development work. This includes product briefs, timelines, liquid workbooks, test plans, test reports, specifications, IP protection.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

1. Skills in product formulation with skills & interest in process scale up from laboratory to factory.
2. Understanding the function a Pilot Plant can offer and how to trial products using one.
3. Skills in factory commissioning and validation with a focus on quality.
4. Specific knowledge of beverage formulation, ingredients, and processing.
5. Ability to interpret sensory and consumer research data and use this to guide product design is desired.

Qualifications:

1. Honours or Degree equivalent in relevant science discipline (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Food science, Chemistry).
2. Relevant formulation / quality qualifications are desirable.
