OVERVIEW

Supports the activities of on-site piping, fabrication, scaffold and lagging contractors. Provides the interface between operational and maintenance activities to ensure the contractors tasks are prioritised and executed in a safe and efficient manner.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports ASR Fabrication and Piping Supervisor with  the activities of all on-site piping and fabrication, scaffolding and Insulation contractors.
• Ensure all piping and fabrication, scaffolding and insulation tasks are carried out to the required site safety, hygiene, quality and environmental standards.
• Ensure all piping and fabrication installations produce improvements and longevity against erosion, corrosion and chemical attack.
• Provide the communication interface between contractor, Production and Maintenance personnel.
• Ensure the contractors carry out all tasks using site PTW and TBRA documents.
• Generate a weekly plan for all work, identifying skills required and estimated durations so as to minimise Melt stops and plant downtime.
• Respond effectively to reactive failures that may impact planned work.
• Obtain competitive quotes for additional work outside of the permanently contracted on-site teams.
• Carry out a minimum of one safety/quality audit per week on one of the contract companies.
• Work with the Fabrication and Piping Supervisor to identify and allocate costs to M&R, MMR and CAPEX as appropriate.
• Management of non-destructive testing service providers.

WORK EXPERIENCES

• Extensive practical experience of plant maintenance, piping and fabrication within an automated continuous process environment.
• Experience of planning and organizing engineering tasks often involving contractor resources.
• Experience of managing health and safety requirements for contractors.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques relating to pipe work failures.
• Demonstrated planning skills, problem solving and a methodical approach.
• Proven organisation skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Practical experience of Continuous Improvement in an automated continuous process environment
• Exposure to Financial / budgetary management.
• Compilation of scopes of work for contractors

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• CITB / BTECH  .
• Apprentice Trained - PREFERABLE
• IOSH - PREFERABLE
