London, United Kingdom

Job Descrption

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join the Penguin Random House Children’s team on a fixed term contract basis, for 12 months.

Do you have experience in marketing for children and family audiences? Are you interested in engaging parents, caregivers, educators and children themselves with authentic and targeted campaigns? If you are a marketer looking for a new challenge and you’re able to deliver compelling, successful and audience-first strategies with a focus on the family market, this could be the role for you!

Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we strive for our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated. We want to work with a wide range of talent as we find new ways to tell our stories. That is where you come in.

Our Puffin Middle Grade list (that’s 6-12 years) boasts every book a child could want, from powerhouse brands such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Lottie Brooks and Tom Fletcher; stellar debuts such as The Swifts by Beth Lincoln, City of Stolen Magic by Nazneen Ahmed Pathak and The Whisperwicks by Jordan Lees; to genre-defining non-fiction from household names such as Adam Kay.

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Using audience insight to build creative, consumer-focused campaigns which consistently deliver sales

  • Monitoring and evaluating campaign performance and competitor activity

  • Communicating effectively with the wider business including Editorial, PR, Sales, Design, Production etc to ensure the campaigns run smoothly and achieve results

  • Bringing diversity of thought and innovation into everything you do

Perhaps you’re an experienced book marketeer looking for a new challenge? Or maybe your marketing background makes you an expert on children’s brands, audiences and the landscape but publishing will be a new challenge to you.  Whatever your marketing background, we want to hear from different voices throughout the UK and see different perspectives.

You’ll also have proven experience of working across multiple projects and will have excellent relationship building skills. An effective decision maker with a proactive approach and the ability to lead by example will be key.

If you’d like to apply, please submit your CV and a Cover Letter by 11:59pm on Sunday 7th April.
