SHIFT OPERATOR - RUGBY PLANT

4on 4off shift role

  • 2 Days - 7am to 7pm
  • 2 Nights - 7pm to 7am

14 days off every 5 shift rotations (holiday allowance included in shift pattern)

Plus 6 “rota days” per year.

We are searching for a Shift Operator to operate our production machinery whilst ensuring safety, quality and housekeeping are maintained during the production of our cans.  You will have experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance and policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure daily routine checks are completed and errors corrected in relation to area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all relevant records for the work area are updated as per dictated frequency.
  • Use SPC tools (such as Infinity and PRISMA) to ensure integrity of the can is controlled.
  • Ensure housekeeping in the area is kept up to the required standard
  • Carry out cleaning duties on and around the equipment.
  • Ensure that spoilage from machines and equipment in the area of work is maintained below the required target levels.
  • Carry out continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and spoilage.
  • Ensure material usages (ODM’s, spare parts, etc) in the work area are controlled.
  • Continuously monitor equipment in the area to ensure efficiency of the production lines is maintained above the required target levels.
  • Provide support for trials of new materials and / or equipment.
  • Provide support for the installation or commissioning of new equipment
  • Operate FLT as and when required.
  • Carry out size changes and Diameter changes.
  • Ensure Hygiene Management System compliance and policies are adhered to.

Professional Requirements

Qualifications

GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths and English

Languages

English, written and verbal

Computer Skills/literacy

MS Office packaging to include Word and Excel would be an advantage. FLT License or willing to                          train.

 

Experience/Attributes

  • Ability to demonstrate safe working practices
  • Good communicator, team worker and effective listener
  • Previous experience working in a fast automation environment.
  • Positive & ‘can do’ attitude
  • Must be action orientated and a desire to achieve results / persevere.
  • Must be flexible and with appropriate training be willing to work in other areas to support team members, occasionally at short notice.
