Nomura's Operations department supports the company's business activities through efficient operational processes. The team collaborates with senior leadership, business units, and stakeholders to develop effective operational strategies, providing guidance on process design, implementation, and management to align operations with business objectives. Performance Management
The Performance Management Function develops a coordinated approach across Business, Operations and Technology to best meet the demands of the Wholesale Operations group. This function coordinates the focus of the NEW TEAM NAMES. The Performance Management function helps to drive strategic change across the organization by sourcing and providing high quality quantitative and qualitative data to inform all levels of the Operations and those in other divisions. 


Role Description / Areas of responsibility:
This role will work closely with the Global Head of Performance Management and Global Head of Wholesale Operations reporting directly to the Global Head of Risk & Control. 
Performance Management
•    Drive improvements relating to measurement of performance measures ensure all areas are captured and reported.
•    Perform trend and root cause analysis of performance measures, to drive enhancements and improve the controls / efficiency
•    Represent performance management in relevant meetings with stakeholders to discuss projects, issues and outstanding items
Project & Change Management
•    Manage a range of Project & Change initiatives. This will include project management – tracking status of projects, key milestones, deliverables, assessing project RAG status, reporting to management.
•    Support Project & Change initiatives of a global nature across Operations 
Other Coordination & Governance Activities
•    Candidate should be able to understand a set of concepts and translate this into materials that articulate a clear message with supporting arguments and data sets. 
•    Prepare presentation materials ready to be consumed by senior operations executive management and other senior management. 
•    Assist in the coordination of workshops.  Liaison with participants, gathering and preparation of relevant materials, coordination of logistics.
Management
•    Help to development the Performance Management function in Asia and manage the growing team.  
•    Partner with the existing Regional Heads of Performance Management help drive forward the global agenda.
Other 
•    Ensure all processes and procedures are in compliance with internal/external policies and regulations.
•    Ensure issues are escalated appropriately, and drive agreed resolution with stakeholders.
•    Ensure outstanding actions are closed out resolved by agreed timeline.


Skills, experience, qualifications / knowledge required
•    Proven track record of developing, maintaining strong trust based relationships with a variety of managers, large teams, and key decision making stakeholders
•    Must be collaborative, strategic, and energetic in their day to day
•    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels 
•    Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, excellent judgement and attention to detail
•    Interest in driving change across the division globally 
•    Very strong time management and organizational skills
•    Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects, and competing requests simultaneously 
•    Innovative mind-set, with the desire to challenge the status quo and drive forward change
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations and speaking points
•    Desire to build strong business acumen and presentation skills
•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar employment experience 
•    Excellent Powerpoint and Excel skills
•    Familiarity with emerging/ disruptive technology such as robotics, python will be an advantage
•    7-15 years of professional experience with strong desire to grow within the organization 

 

Desirable/ Nice to Have
•    Financial services or management consulting
•    Ability to create dashboards in PowerBi and knowledge of excel
