Position Summary
Works with clinical departments within Weill Cornell Medicine and assists with Access and Operations improvement initiatives. Assists with practice reviews to assure an efficient, compliant and patient-friendly practice, as well as supportive workflows.
Job Responsibilities
Assists with ongoing practice reviews particularly focused on Access and Operations: call abandonment rate, referrals, provider efficiency, schedule utilization, coding optimization, reduction of missing charges, meaningful use, etc.
Serves as a liaison between the practice and department management, as well as other central units (for example, billing compliance, POBO, POIS, ITS, etc).
Assists with implementation/ongoing improvement of access and operational policies/procedures. Monitors department dashboard metrics, reports, and performance; coordinates necessary trainings, revisions, updates, workflow optimization projects.
Assists with review of front-end workflows; identifies and implements workflow revisions to achieve successful system implementation (ie, ACD Phones, or new/updated workflows) and improve access metrics and operational workflow and compliance.
Creates and reviews business requirement documents, project plans, updates/proposes changes or revisions as needed.
Monitors revenue cycle, patient access/satisfaction, telephone metrics, and operations. Identifies issues and communicates practice health to leadership. Identifies anomalies and coordinates with department head to strategize solutions.
Works with the practice to set initial/ongoing key performance indicator levels, as well as metrics. Monitors progress of metrics to ensure incremental progress towards desired goals and productivity levels.
Works with identified practices to gather front-end data or requests for information. Serves as a part of the analysis team and provides input to aid in access improvement projects and tasks.
Responsible for meeting minutes, agendas, scheduling meetings, creating supporting materials/analyses, document workflows, submitting technical tickets, creating presentations, and supporting other related projects as necessary.
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Approximately 2-4 years of previous health care practice management or consulting related experience.
Previous experience working with eMR systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work independently.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure; ability to prioritize competing demands and complete action items efficiently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
