The Consumer Customer Facing Unit (CFU) delivers over £10bn of revenue and £2.4bn of EBITDA for BT Group. The CFU has recently launched New EE and provides customers will numerous product lines including Broadband, Mobile, TV, Security products, Insurance and plans to expand ranges futher through New Verticals. This provides employees fantastic opportunities to grow their knowledge of the industry and develop a long-lasting career within the unit. The Commercial Finance team is part of the Finance function within the Consumer CFU. One of the key focus areas is transformation that provides the vehicle in making the business less complex and more efficient. This role sits front and centre of the Digital Service Transformation (part of a £300m 10 year investment case) by transforming the way we deliver service to future and existing customers, eliminating journey complexity and increasing automatization.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Business partner the Retail Commercial team.
  2. Consolidation of the Retail finance view including TLC, Property, Non-staff and to be able to present monthly and YTD position to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.  Key articulation of the story of movements and movements vs targets.  
  3. Month end responsibility for Retail TLC ensuring transparent result understanding vs MoM, YoY and Target.
  4. MTP and Outlook Forecasts - Manage the production of the Retail TLC and overall consolidation of Retail numbers as per timelines set by Central Finance.  Presentational outputs used for Director, MD and CFO review.
  5. Work with stakeholders to understand both opportunities and risks for the headcount and wider Retail spend and actively look for implementation of opportunities and mitigation of risks
  6. Analysis and insights into Retail performance to be shared with the Retail Director on a periodic basis to help make commercial decisions
  7. Adhoc business cases pertaining to Retail

Skills

Must have

  1. Qualified Accountant
  2. Comfortable using SAP / financial systems
  3. Strong excel and powerpoint skills with the ability to analyse data to conclude on next steps / recommendations
  4. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate clear key messages, often to senior management
  5. Proven ability to create strong links with business partners and other areas of Finance. Ability to quickly gain respect and credibility amongst peers and stakeholders
  6. Ability to change direction quickly to new requests, delivering high quality of outputs
  7. Proactive nature, looking to get into the root causes
  8. Experience or can demonstrate ability to perform month end working with Central Finance
