Why this job matters
Located within BT’s Colleague Services unit, this is an exciting platform operations role in which you'll join a high-profile team of skilled professionals working together to deliver Identity and Access related services to the whole of BT. The platforms you’ll run integrate directly with our HR functions and other major data stores and ensure that new joiners have the access and equipment they need when they join, as well as facilitating the requesting, approval and provisioning of role-specific access for over a hundred thousand employees in every part of the company. We also help keep BT safe by ensuring access rights are revalidated periodically and removed when an employee leaves.
What you’ll be doing
Leading key Identity-related operations including access request, approval, provisioning and recertification processes.
Help new applications get onboard
Ensuring operational processes comply with audit requirements
Deployment of new code releases
Performance and capacity monitoring
Production and ownership of technical and process documentation
Pro-active and pre-emptive fault detection, diagnosis and resolution
Looking for improvement opportunities in the services
Leadership on championing our customers
Provide out of hours cover on a rotation basis
Skills
You'll have the following skills and experience
Work experience of writing SQL updates (intermediate-level essential)
Familiarity with Linux platforms essential
Good understanding of relational databases and related technologies: e.g. Oracle Db
Good understanding of Active Directory structures
Understanding of or experience with relevant IT standards
Good analytic and problem-solving skills
Experience working in Identity and Access Management/Identity Governance would be an advantage
