The role of the Consumer Risk, Compliance & Assurance team is to help BT/EE conduct its business in full compliance with all applicable regulations, as well as internal codes of conduct, policies, standards and procedures.  

We enable the business to create and maintain great customer outcomes by providing unparalleled omnichannel risk, compliance, and assurance expertise.

 

The Senior Manager – Advisory, Governance & Reporting is charged with delivering comprehensive and ongoing compliance advice support BT/EE remaining compliant, providing pragmatic advice and solutions to the business regarding the implementation of regulatory requirements. They must have experience of working in the FS sector with a good knowledge of regulations.  The Senior Manager will also look across the ORCA team to ensure the ORCA strategy is delivered. They manage a team that sets the standards to ensure a high-quality outputs, advises on effective governance arrangements and identifies areas for continuous improvement across ORCA.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Operate as an SME in compliance, directing programmes and strategies defined by the ORCA director developing a “best-in-class” compliance programme, promoting ethical behaviour and building a strong “compliance culture” from management downwards.
  • Lead a team of compliance professionals in building relationships and counselling stakeholders on regulatory compliance in a user-friendly and pragmatic manner.
  • Direct a team in the delivery of advice, training, communications, templates and tools, setting and monitoring KPIs, and delivering on key processes including risk assessments and investigations when assigned to execute on them.
  • Drive engagement with management and key functions to ensure there are adequate internal controls to achieve the Group’s compliance objectives.
  • Elevate compliance efficiencies through identifying opportunities for improved adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead project plans to address remediation efforts and testing review findings, including process updates, documentation and / or training.
  • Work in partnership with the wider ORCA team to design and communicate the risk, compliance and assurance strategy for Consumer.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic direction of the team.
  • Oversee the implementation of appropriate governance processes and controls to ensure Consumer meets its objectives in a compliant way.
  • Provide specific governance advice with regards to the Senior Manager & Certification Regime.
  • Define the key performance indicators by which the ORCA team will monitor and report on the ‘health’ of Consumer at appropriate forums.
  • Develop and maintain effective MI systems for collecting, analysing and reporting relevant data, leveraging Group capability where appropriate.
  • Set the technology strategy for ORCA and ensures it is delivered. (e.g. data, speech, AI)
  • Be the central hub for the ORCA team to provide timely and accurate information to support decision-making at all levels.
  • Lead the development of customised Compliance training to meet the needs of the Consumer business.
  • Oversee strategic projects and initiatives to ensure they align with ORCA’s direction.
  • Mentor, coaches, and manage a team to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.

The skill you'll need

 

  • Excellent presentation, people engagement and leadership skills. 
  • Strong planning and organising skills. 
  • Ability to work closely with and partner with the business within a highly complex challenging environment. 
  • Strong verbal (Exec level presentations) and written communication skills.
  • Expert functional knowledge of FCA’s policies, procedures, and approach and experience of translating regulatory rules and guidance into articulate, balanced and pragmatic solutions for BT/EE and an ability to apply this understanding to both EE/BT’s approach and the key regulatory challenges faced.
  • Experience of working in financial services environment 
  • Extensive Governance / controls experience and knowledge
  • Transformation or change management experience and experience of working on policy frameworks.
