Broadband Network Test is a vital part of the delivery cycle between design and deployment into BT’s live platforms. Utilising BT’s world renowned Network Test Facility the team verify new products before launch and validate hardware/software upgrades that enhance BT’s Broadband ISP platforms. This role also involves developing our service assurance capabilities ensuring that BT’s customers receive the best Broadband Service.
    

The purpose of the Network Test Engineer is to be accountable for executing/documenting and automating the test activities for the Broadband  platforms and the services they support.  

You'll have the following responsibilities

•    Technical Leadership of Service Assurance Test activities, delivering them as efficiently as possible to support the development and maintenance of the network platform and services. 
•    Adhere to all Test processes, for example; Jira updates & Model environment best practices. 
•    Utilise the Model environment and Production network to verify new products before launch and validate hardware/software updates.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve issues in project analysing data and provsisioning systems to find defects.
•    Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders across and outside of the business. 
•    Sharing of knowledge within the team and outside of the team. Where appropriate, take ownership and coordinate.
•    Contribute to Test Collaborative Goals to enable the team to go Beyond Limits.
 

You'll have the following skills and experience

Skills include – but are not restricted to:

•    Minimum Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification
•    Intermediate or Basic skills in network automation using Python/Ansible or other similar technologies
•    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience

•    Experience of Service assurance functions covering both networks and OSS/BSS systems.
•    Proven experience in Network Infrastructure Testing (e.g. Vendor code upgrades, regression testing, in life issue testing, new feature platform/product testing).
•    Experience of using Python based tools to assist network configuration and test
•    Experience of Broadband network technologies such as PPP/Radius AAA
•    Proven experience in creating technical documentation.
