Why this job matters:

 

The Commercial Strategy & Execution Team leads strategic activity that will support delivery of the MTP and Commercial priorities that underpin the Consumer Strategy. 
There are some key shifts this team needs to be able to drive over FY25 and beyond:

 

•    From a product focus to a household growth focus, by generating more value from our existing customers beyond broadband and mobile (a truly household-led operating model)
•    Moving to a genuinely omni-channel experience, giving customers the freedom and flexibility to interact with us however they choose, even if they start in one channel and end in another
•    Moving from a central operating model to a localised, regional model, creating more personal activity and experiences to help find new customers to grow our customer base

 

Key areas of responsibility for the team:

 

•    Develop strategy for delivery of Commercial priorities over 1-3 years 
•    Define & govern strategic roadmap for delivery of Commercial priorities (including dependencies that are controlled outside Commercial)
•    Track performance of strategic KPIs (and recommendations for strategic optimisation) 
•    Lead delivery and optimisation of multi-channel strategic programmes and capability
•    Accountable for ensuring sustainable change is landed extremely well into the organisation
•    Lead Annual Planning for Capex & Opex for Commercial
•    Supports MD and Commercial Leadership Team with business planning (incl QBR / Exec updates)

 

This role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Commercial Strategy & Execution Manager with implementation of strategic plans.


 

What you’ll be doing:

 

•    Support development of the strategic vison, milestones and roadmap 
•    Develop execution plans for the strategic roadmap
•    Co-ordinate Tests / Pilots with cross-functional teams & adjust / optimise the strategy
•    Lead strategic programme governance
•    Measure and monitor progress and outcomes
•    Support strategic reviews & optimisation
•    Define Strategic playbook

 

Leadership responsibilities:

•    Communicate the strategy clearly and convincingly
•    Manage complexity and uncertainty
•    Execute the strategy with excellence, efficiency, and effectiveness
 

Skills and experience you'll have under your belt:

 

Must have:

 

1.    Experience converting goals into specific objectives and actionable tasks
2.    Effective collaborator and communicator - with different departments, levels of organisation, offices, areas of expertise and culture  - to achieve a common goal
3.    Experience with foreseeing and managing operational risks
4.    Experience executing strategic plans in a systematic manner
5.    Ability to consistently adapt to changing requirements / set back (with resilience)

 

Would be good to have:

 

1.    Experience within Telco environment 

2.    Programme Management experience
