ESN will be the most advanced Emergency Services Network in the world – once again, BT/EE will be helping Britain to be a world leader in mobile.  The ESN Finance team within BT  Business delivers full end-to-end financial governance of the ESN contract, including internal and external FP&A, Customer engagement, business partnering and control and audit ownership and management PMO and programme governance.

The breadth of responsibilities of the team including owning and operating across three Business Units & CFOs is truly unique and complex.  As Finance Manager in the Controller team, the role holder will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate reporting critical to the contract including key quarterly reports, both internal and external (to the Home Office).

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo BPSS Level Government Screening which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
 

What you’ll be doing

1. Lead for quarterly contract reporting, helping co-ordinate both the QFR (Home Office quarterly finance review) and CGR (Contract Governance review) for ESN
2. OpEx lead for both actuals and outlook working closely with key stakeholders including business partner and operational teams to achieve ambitious targets
3. Finance lead for TLR/C (total labour resource and cost) in terms of reporting, control and approvals
4. Champion continuous improvement in terms of Identifying and driving related model improvements working closely with key stakeholders including business partners, operational, Bid and Home Office teams.
5. Support the Resourcing team and work closely with the HR team to optimise both reporting and resource costs

Essential Skillsd

What we would like to see on your CV

1. Excellent technical accounting skills ideally experienced in a major contract role
2. Suitable candidates will either be a qualified Accountant, degree level educated or possess extensive experience of financial management and delivery of improved financial performance
3. Advanced system skills including SAP and excel with an ability to optimise complex data sets
4. Excellent stakeholder management skills and able to work closely with business partnering, Networks, Digital and operational teams to help deliver challenging outcomes
5. Any exposure to working in a contract accounting, Telco or HMG environments would be beneficial

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
