Why this job matters

Our Regulatory Affairs team is fundamental to delivering BT's strategy and achieving the best for its customers. The team partners across the whole of BT, providing individuals with the opportunity to work on projects across multiple aspects of the business. We perform an important role in shaping the regulatory framework and supporting the business in understanding and implementing regulatory requirements, managing both risk and opportunity for the business. This helps enable the business to innovate, compete fairly and deliver better services for our customers and wider society.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage the internal process for preparing and submitting responses to Statutory Information Requests from Ofcom.
  • Coordinate regulatory projects and programmes and create detailed project plans.
  • Draft and input to BT's submissions to public consultations.
  • Prepare presentations and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide BT's businesses with advice on regulatory topics.
  • Identify key regulatory opportunities and risks, and champion informed risk taking and innovation.

The skills you'll need to succeed

  • Communication – able to develop different kinds of communications (visual, written and verbal) that represent Regulatory Affairs to a range of different audiences.
  • Influencing skills – able to build effective networks and collaborate with others within the company, with Ofcom and across the industry.
  • Problem solving – able to understand the complex subject matter, identify potential risks and opportunities and present logical evidenced arguments/solutions.
  • Organisation skills – able to ensure that things are robustly delivered on time.
  • Improvement focus - you question and challenge the way things are done and work with others to make improvements.
  • Curiosity – have a genuine interest in the wider political and regulatory environment and desire to learn more. You know when to look at the big picture and gather new perspectives.
