Why this job matters

Located within BT’s Colleague Services unit, this is an exciting platform operations role in which you'll join a high-profile team of skilled professionals working together to deliver Identity and Access related services to the whole of BT. The platforms you’ll run integrate directly with our HR functions and other major data stores and ensure that new joiners have the access and equipment they need when they join, as well as facilitating the requesting, approval and provisioning of role-specific access for over a hundred thousand employees in every part of the company. We also help keep BT safe by ensuring access rights are revalidated periodically and removed when an employee leaves.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading key Identity-related operations including access request, approval, provisioning and recertification processes.
• Liaising with applications throughout BT as you onboard and administer their identity data, learning about the company as you go
• Ensuring operational processes comply with audit requirements
• Deployment of new code releases
• Performance and capacity monitoring  
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and colleague experience
• Production and ownership of technical and process documentation 
• Work closely with BT’s Security and Networks units to meet Telecoms Security Code of Practice (TSA) requirements
• Pro-active and pre-emptive fault detection, diagnosis and resolution
• Provide out of hours cover on a rotation basis
   

Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an Application Support Role (Identity & Access Management PAM/IAM or related field preferable)
• Highly organized with the ability to communicate (both written and verbally) clearly and efficiently
• Work experience of writing SQL updates & queries on multiple tables (intermediate-level essential)
• Familiarity with Linux platforms (preferred but not essential)
• Good understanding of relational databases and related technologies: e.g. Oracle Db, MSSQL 
• Good understanding of Active Directory/Azure/Entra ID 
• Good understanding of IT standards, e.g  ITIL framework and General IT Controls
• Good analytic and problem-solving skills
