Why this job matters

As the Desk Specialist Sales Manager you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of sales specialists for inside sales across England and Wales. In this role you will provide leadership for teams working with Account Managers and Business Development Managers, helping to win business relating to specific technology towers; IT & Networks; Mobile, Future Voice and UC. The specific specialism for this role will be looking after Mobility Sales Specialists, liaising with Account Managers when their customers mention need for mobile. You will drive the performance of your Sales Specialists, managing a vast range of opportunities for customers through frequent and meaningful interactions, carefully planning and forecasting for best return on investment. You will get the most out of your team by coaching, developing their skills, technical learning, continual improvement and ensuring skill sets are utilised across the team efficiently. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for the sales plans and performance of the team, delivering regional sales strategy plans, taking into account financial (SOVGM) and nonfinancial measures (KPIs, NPS, Your Say).
  • Manage team to have a competitive advantage against other players through a superior knowledge of industry, propositions, technologies and customer business problems.
  • Identify cost effective solutions for each customer situation, working with finance / pricing and other internal teams to provide a detailed P&L maximising profit margins. 
  • Utilise sales reporting, analytics, commercial insights, driving continual improvement and effectively coaching and mentoring team. 
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with sales processes and our legal requirements, adhering to governance requirements of sales pay plan and incentives, and also making sure your team is fully compliant (completed mandatory training, expenses,  gifts and hospitality policies etc.)

What we expect to see on your CV

  • Either Sales Management or Specialist Sales Experience. 
  • The ability to coach and develop others, creating a high performance culture where people want to achieve. 
  • Experience delivering business objectives and stretching sales targets. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating with internal and external teams, managing internal processes. 
  • Understanding of current market and strategies affecting Telco's and customer buying decisions.
