Why this job matters

Our newly formed Small and Medium Business (SMB) team supports businesses with 1 to 249 employees. That could be anything from a sole trader through to a small contact centre.

We're already the market leader for small and medium businesses in the UK and we have a big opportunity for Business to be even better for its customers. We’ve got big growth and transformation ambitions for this segment and in this role, you will play a key role in forming this new combined unit and working with the leadership team to continue to drive for growth.

This is role will help provide oversight of the commercial trading performance for the entire SMB P&L. A big part of this remit will be building out the SMB trading capabilities.

The role focuses on ensuring high-quality data and analytics across our commercial trading function, enabling commercial teams to measure, understand, and optimise performance.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead data and analytics in SMB Commercial Trading, with a focus on in-year commercial performance.
• Optimise commercial performance, reporting and forecasting.
• Drive the scoping, planning, design and delivery of data analytics activities for commercial trading.
• Conduct data analysis on complex data to evaluate commercial performance and synthesise findings into key insights.
• Champion, continuously develop, and share your knowledge on emerging trends and changes in data analytics with the Commercial Trading team.

The skills you’ll need

What we would like to see on your CV

• Have previously held data and analytics-focused roles. 
• Have experience with data analysis to enable commercial decision-making.
• Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools, such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, or Looker is a must.
• You should have experience working cross-functionally. 
• Experience in an agile way of working – Not essential

Flexible working

BT have moved to a hybrid working model - you can work from home 2 days per week. This means you’ll be at your contractual location 3 days a week.
