Why this job matters
The purpose of the Senior Network Test  Manager is to be accountable for all aspects in the performance of delivering test demand for Enterprise, Global and Internet  platforms and the services they support.  
The Senior Network Test  Manager will set out and deliver the strategy ensuring best in class performance, maximum efficiency and exceptional service are delivered.
The Senior Network Test  Manager will be a key contributor and enabler for the implication of the wider team and business unit strategy.

What you’ll be doing – your accountabilities    The skills you’ll need to succeed

• Leads and provides strategic direction and vision to managers across a large and complex operational team, applying technical expertise, adjusting focus and responding quickly to priorities and changes in market.
• Identifies and executes growth opportunities, transforms the cost base and the way in which team operates for optimum delivery.
• Responsible for end to end service for their area, through ensuring customer, service or regulatory targets are effective and efficient deployment and management of resources within their geography, including contracting third party options to support delivery.
• Manages and develops trusted customer relationships and senior stakeholders for large, site or field based operational/specialist teams.
• Enabling & driving a high engagement culture across their functional boundaries to ensure the customer experience is delivered.
• Holds accountability for delivering functional operational strategy working cross business and function and geographies.
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate BCM Plans are in place in readiness for a Trigger Event.

The skills you'll need

• Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
• Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology or similar experience.
• Leadership: You put projects into operation. You consider different perspectives, the organisational context and behaviors and the links between structure, people, process and technology to make sure we succeed

Experience you’d be expected to have

• Showcased expertise on a project or a specific piece of work or led a project outside of the core areas of your expertise 
• Led a cost reduction effort 
• Collaborated on a new project with a recognised expert 
• Managed a rapidly growing team or part of the business 
• Allocated and directed a budget for part of the business 
• Handled a difficult people issue well – 
• redundancy, disciplinary, re-organisation 
• Volunteered for extra responsibility such as project team involvement/leadership 
• Created a recovery plan for a struggling part of the business 
• Communicated BT's business strategy to multiple audiences
