WHAT TO EXPECT

Engineering Operations (EO) are responsible for the preparation and testing of Prototype Rotating Machines or Units Under Test (UUTs), including such commodities as Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), Powertrain in the Loop (PiL) rigs and future focused technologies such as Electronic Drive Units (EDU) and Brake Emissions Testing in support of the overall powertrain cycle plan. The Rotating Machine Test Delivery team (EO100226) facilitates these activities by establishing the requirements of customer test requests and ensuring that the UUTs are tested to the correct procedure and process. We drive the delivery of high-quality data, whilst observing both internal and external testing standards, which real world engineering decisions are made on.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Delivery of UUT’s technical specification and cascading to support teams
• Delivery of UUT through the EO10022 End to End process (cradle to grave)
• Support of the facilities’ daily operation including daily start up meetings and facility utilisation reporting
• Support our diversely skilled hourly/opps team with programme priorities and engine test technical requirements
• Promote/ Support Health & Safety, TPM and Training
• Support in the development of processes, Work Instructions and SPLs (Single Point Lessons) to support Prototype Engine Test objectives
• Support apprentice, new starters and existing team member development (mentoring)
• Develop and provide weekly team feedback and presentations regarding departmental objectives and issues.
• Support / lead continuous improvement activities with an aim of improving operation efficiency and reducing costs

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:

• Preparation for or testing of UUTs / test cell operational knowledge
• Proven experience in workload / project management
• Proven ability to plan effectively and achieve quality results
• Problem solver with proven experience and structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment
• Knowledge of company Health and Safety requirements, including Risk Assessment, COSHH and SDS
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, SPL documents and process review / generation
• Experience in a testing environment, with a knowledge of measurement technology and facility requirements 
• Commitment, flexibility, self-motivation, robust clear communication.
• Background in quality standards and audit processes
• A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points and no disqualification

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
