WHAT TO EXPECT
 
The MPM (Manufacturing Programme Management) department has responsibility for leading & co-ordinating all business functions with the objective of achieving flawless product launches, with achievement of time, cost and quality targets, MPM provide the Single Point of Contact for Manufacturing. This requires interaction & co-ordination of Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Finance, Suppliers and the Commercial activities.

The role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the end-to-end Manufacturing Programme environment.  This function holds a unique position at the heart of manufacturing delivery - from initial feasibility through to detail launch planning and delivery and into volume production of both vehicles and powertrain units. 

This exciting role will also bring you into contact with an extensive number of areas in the business and provide you with an opportunity to develop and utilise your transferrable project management skills in both the planning and delivery of our new products.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Meeting all Manufacturing Deliverables as outlined 
• Delivery of programme to overall cost targets 
• Meeting all Launch Quality targets 
• Delivering to Launch Timing plans as specified 
• Ensuring all activities delivered within established Launch Budget
• Support delivery of Programme against overall timing plan 
• Support the planning and delivery of manufacturing plans for delivery prototype, and pre-production build phases 
• Assist functional areas to drive quality products & processes with robust input into launch quality deliverables
• Identify and engage in continuous improvement & standardisation activities within the business improvement team
• Support cost target development & programme cost studies 
• Support tracking of manufacturing financial input in terms of Tooling, Facilities, Launch and costs
• Lead cross functional reviews to address programme issues using issue management tools (AIM2, JIRA)
• Support the Manufacturing Programmes Attribute Team (MPAT)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
 
As the Manufacturing Programme Engineer, you’ll need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

• Experience of project management
• Experience in using data driven problem solving techniques
• Experience of working in a new product launch environment 
• Experience of working in a quality focused role
• Microsoft package elements (Power Point & Excel)
• Demonstrable experience of process improvement and working in a project support role
• Proficient communication and organisational skills
