WHAT TO EXPECT
As a Battery Integration Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Charging Systems V&V Chapter, working within the dynamic Charging Systems Verification & Validation Group. You will be a pivotal point of contact for Battery build support for high voltage batteries and charging systems.
You will be supporting the battery build activity and working cross functionally with the battery build team, resolving technical issues and performing root cause analysis for the issues reported from different build area for our future JLR BEV products. This is a highly collaborative role, allowing you to work closely with Charging Hardware and Software teams to undertake validation and verification solutions to contain and identify issue at battery build level.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Support HV Battery pack/Battery Electrical Module (BEM) build targets by keep enough stock of pre-flashed Battery Management Control Module (BMCM) units with appropriate bootloader, slave & application software version.
- Perform commissioning tests (Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical) at Battery Electrical Module & Battery pack level and verify test results against pre-defined pass criteria.
- Take on and support a structured problem-solving approach on various issue investigations and issue reported by cross functional teams and battery build team.
- Ensure tests executed to correct procedures & operating conditions, accurately and produce high quality data with limited oversight from Lead Validation Engineer.
- Support relevant technical reviews and lead/support issue resolution through established processes and standard JLR tools (AIMS/8D)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
A Battery Integration Engineer will need experience within high voltage charging systems, ideally within the automotive industry, and it will be advantageous to have experience within electric vehicles charging systems. You will be working in a high demand area of JLR, it will be useful having previous experience in delivering operational plans in fast paced, high demands environments.
Essential:
- Working knowledge of HV Charging Systems
- Knowledge of various Propulsion Systems and its Concepts (BEV, PHEV, MHEV).
- Validation & Verification experience preferably within the Automotive industry.
- Working knowledge of Vector (CANalyser) & ETAS (INCA) Tools.
- Knowledge of formal problem-solving techniques.
