This role is resposible for acting as the primary contact for leadership, supervision, oversight for their assigned department. The role assists and provides direction to the team to ensure achievement of daily safety, quality, productivity and inventory goals. This person must be a role model for safe behavior and must ensure team members are following safe work practices and wearing required personal protection equipment (PPE).
Essential Functions:
Facilitate 'start of shift' meetings and assign tasks throughout shift.
Troubleshoot and solve problems on the production floor including but not limited to
Monitor and track quality issues and escalate to supervisor when necessary.
Provide constructive feedback to associates regarding operational errors.
Monitor and adjust labor utilization as necessary; coordinate efforts and resource allocation with other team leads/supervisors.
Ensure quality management system training records are accurate; ensure controlled copies of work instructions are accurate and up to date.
Facilitate cross-training throughout assigned department; conduct cross-training when needed.
Participate in interviewing/selection of contract employees; prepare initial drafts of contract employee performance reviews.
Monitor and track mechanical downtime, daily metrics, order processing and material availability.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
4+ years manufacturing experience
Proficient quality management and enterprise resource planning systems experience
Must be capable of training, certifying and performing all positions within the department
