Here at GXO we’re looking for a Transport Training Shift Manager to join our site in Wellingborough. You will be managing the day-to-day transport operation of the site and you will have a strong emphasis on Transport training and operational efficiency, ensuring that KPI’S are achieved.

This is a permanent role working mainly Monday – Friday, 6am – 2pm, however some flexibility will be required.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Delivery of transport training & SAFE driver assessments across the Transport department
• Scheduling & delivery of all transport training
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.
• Stay current on transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
• Manage all responsibilities that are associated to having direct reports, including regular 1-1’s, appraisals, personal development plans, absence and disciplinary activities along with the overall effectiveness of the job roles within the department

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven experience in a training leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Experience in safety leadership, with the ability to promote a culture of safety, implementing effective safety protocols, and fostering continuous improvement in safety practices across transport operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance.
• Must hold at least LGV1 License
