FILM & SMART SURFACE SOLUTIONS (F&SSS)

We are Film & Smart Surface Solutions (F&SSS) and currently active in more than 50 countries. Our main production location is in the UK, with plans in place to realise a second production location in Asia. Our R&D and Technical centres are already in all three territories, Americas, Asia and Europe.

Our target for the F&SSS division is to become the market leader in the in-mold electronics space for the automotive industry.  It capitalizes on emerging trends in human-machine interfaces, displays and in-mold electronics. The division combines our extensive offering of speciality films for the industrial and automotive industries with our developing portfolio of flexible and formable conductive and non-conductive inks.  The combination of these products with our in-depth materials and process expertise enables our customers to create formed, structurally rigid three dimensional automotive controls and displays that are at the forefront of modern cockpit aesthetics and functionality. Job Purpose

• Responsible for assessing, and improving supplier quality to ensure the materials that are received are free from defects.
• Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the correct specifications are in place for production raw materials and that these align with finished product requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring all materials that are supplied are in compliance with the specifications and responsible for the key raw material characteristic trend monitoring and sampling process.
• Responsible for the regular Material Group meetings to identify and monitor raw material related risks and facilitate required actions leading from the Material Group.
• Work directly with Suppliers when defects are found to ensure subsequent investigations are aligned to our problem-solving expectations utilising proper tools and methodologies in driving to root cause whilst ensuring timely and robust containment, corrective & preventative actions.
• Where appropriate, write, issue, negotiate and agree supplier quality agreements.
• Responsible for performing audits on key suppliers and those that are considered underperforming suppliers.
• Responsible for the Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) process
• Lead and improve the vendor rating process by collating and evaluating quality data working to achieve the required standards in terms of supplier maturity assessment metrics & ratings.
• Support the NPI process within the cross functional team by reviewing new supplier suitability.
• Collaborate with Suppliers to develop and improve their performance through time bound action plans.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that Company ISO9001, IATF16949, Health, Safety and Environmental policies are fully implemented at all times.
• Support Complaint Investigations when called upon from Quality Engineers when potential root cause is related to supplier material. Decide and facilitate the disposition of blocked raw material stock.
• Lead the external audit process & support IATF16949 internal audits
• Carry out supplier audits at their facilities ensuring systems, products and processes are appropriate to provide satisfactory materials to ESI.
• Investigate customer complaints relating to supplied material, providing feedback to all relevant areas and ensuring corrective actions are identified and completed. Provide appropriate communications to customers for all complaints.
• Working closely with the Procurement Department to provide data and other supporting evidence to support supplier claims for defective material and associated business costs.
• Ensure Suppliers respond to the SCAR process and document and evalute results accordingly.
• Understand key technical requirements to provide product quality expertise for Raw Materials.
• Understand key Quality System process such as Change Management and Corrective and Preventive Action.
• Support new product introduction with responsibility for the quality of new raw materials.
• Ensures containment actions are in place and concessions are raised and agreed.

Requirements & Qualifications

Degree level with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven Quality experience background and 3 – 5 years related experience
