About the Role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall trade communications, campaign, training & engagement strategies to drive the Celebrity Cruises brand forward, ensuring seamless execution throughout all trade channels. Management of Trade Marketing, Trade Support, Training, and shared ownership of Trade PR.
Through the ethos of ‘easy to do business with’, to motivate and educate the trade across UK, Ireland, Continental Europe, Middle East, and Africa, on the Celebrity Cruises brand and ensure they possess the appropriate tools and support to maximise their sales.
Responsible for delivering maximum return on investment and drive cost efficiencies across all trade channels.
Responsible for the management, motivation and personal development of the enablement team including an on-going programme of mentoring and skill development, the setting of objectives and development plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Trade Marketing and Communications:
- To create and own the annual trade marketing strategy for UK, Ireland, Nordics, and Germany in line with overall commercial and marketing objectives.
- Oversee the execution of all offline and online marketing communications including email, social and print, ensuring alignment with the global brand and integrated across all channels, measured, and reported on.
- Work closely with Senior Leadership, Revenue and Head of Sales to drive successful development and implementation of campaigns within each market.
- Develop a strategic PR plan working with Trade media partners and PR agencies to deliver optimal coverage and support in media within UK, Ireland, Germany & Nordics.
- To be responsible for the management of all relevant agencies: i.e. Creative and Media agencies, Trade Fulfilment.
- Responsible for the effective management and ‘smart spending’ of the total EMEA Trade Marketing budgets. To include monthly forecasting.
- Develop and execute the PR strategy alongside the PR team.
Trade Engagement:
- To own and develop innovative trade incentives across the year to motivate and educate trade and support strategic business needs.
- Ownership of the Celebrity Rewards Trade Loyalty programme ensuring continued development and creating an annual engagement and communication strategy.
- Ownership of the Celebrity Travel Agent Facebook pages across key markets, creating and developing an ongoing strategy in line with overall commercial objectives, driving awareness and engagement with the trade.
- To measure engagement and opinion of the trade via annual focus groups and trade surveys and apply learnings to ongoing strategic plans.
- To work closely with the international teams to leverage and collaborate on global trade initiatives ensuring alignment and cost efficiencies across all markets.
Trade Support:
- To own the annual Trade Support strategy for EMEA ensuring superior customer service and support to our trade partners.
- To oversee the trade fulfilment, distribution and stock management of the Celebrity Cruises brochure and branded merchandise.
- To drive key improvements for trade and sales teams to ensure the department is operating effectively and efficiently.
- Working with commercial and Contact Centre teams to ensure continuous communication and alignment of processes.
Training:
- To work alongside the Training Manager to develop an internal sales training strategy to support Account Managers in developing and evolving their sales skills and personal development.
- To own the overall Trade training strategy across all markets, including online training through our trade platform, bespoke partner training with priority accounts, and virtual/face-to-face training events with the general trade.
- Oversee the plan to drive maximum engagement from trade via ship visits and seminars at sea programme content.
Strategic Account Marketing:
- To assist our International Representatives in CEMEA markets with marketing support and workshops to support business growth.
- To build and develop relationships with the top strategic accounts and work with the sales team to implement and execute bespoke campaigns and marketing support. Meeting with top accounts to allow for further insight, feedback and relationship building.
- Create and implement guidelines to help Account Managers optimize effectiveness of trade marketing spend.
Team:
- To drive high employee engagement and motivation across the team.
- To provide ongoing career development, learning opportunities and performance reviews.
- Work closely with the Director to ensure the most effective structure and skill sets are in place to achieve plan.
- Ensure the sales organisation has the right tools to enable Sales to sell more efficiently and effectively.
Financial responsibility:
- Effectively manage the Trade Marketing budget of circa £1.5M along with accurate forecasting allowing for course correction.
- Ensure the ROI for all activities meets the required KPI’s.

- Flexible working hours and travel
- Minimum 5 years proven marketing experience ideally in a multi-national marketing environment.
- Leisure or travel industry experience preferable
- Matrix organisation experience preferable
