Senior Accountant - Working Capital Control at Volvo Group

What you’ll do

Through business partnering and the use of digital tools, we are steering performance, championing compliance, and driving sustainable growth. Reporting to the Financial Controller UK, the Controller is responsible for managing inventory and securing efficiencies in the company’s working capital as well as providing business partnering support to the distribution department of Volvo Car UK. This role scope covers full ownership of the inventory control, both from a profit, cash, risk, accounting, and audit point of view. Proactively search opportunities and make plans to mitigate risk and avoid pitfalls. Actively drive to deliver goals and sustainable growth.

 

Your key deliverables will include:

Helping to create tools to monitor and report stock levels on a regular basis
Reporting on slow and or ageing stock, develop necessary tools in close collaboration with headquarters
Developing procedures for tracking stock at physical locations and methodologies for stock take, In collaboration with group accounting and auditors,
Managing stock levels within the company working capital targets
Assisting with overseeing receivables and payables, follow up and secure that shared service center is taking appropriate and timely actions
Cash forecast
During annual business planning process – support any area as requested
Helping to develop new digital resources to further leverage data analytics
Calling for actions and follow up that agreed tasks were done
Championing compliance and run audits within your areas
Formal Business Partner to Stock/Revenue pricing as well as Distribution  
Continually evaluating the effectiveness of the function and seek improvements

 

What you’ll bring

The successful candidate will:

Have a background in inventory controlling in similar environment
Possess excellent analytical skills and with a knack for detail
Have excellent accounting and governance skills
Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)

Be a courageous person who builds networks, communicates effectively and listens to colleagues across the business
