What you’ll do
Reporting directly to the Technical Support Manager, the Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting Retailers and independent workshops with diagnostic and repair support on Geely Group vehicles. You will identify educational needs at Retailers and, in agreement with the TSM, and where possible fill the competence gaps. Escalating cases to the Focused support and to the Central organisation when needed.

 

As part of a team of technical specialists, you are each responsible for the technical support for workshops in different markets such as, but not restricted to UK, Ireland and South Africa. The focus of the role is to ensure retailers receive the best possible technical support, to enable them to render the best possible service to their customers.

 

Other responsibilities:
•    Answer support requests coming in via the defined report channel. 
•    Deliver a high-quality diagnostic and repair support advice.
•    Follow the repair process at the dealers to monitor the success.
•    Log all contacts according to the communicated process and analyse gaps at the dealer side. Report these gaps to the Team leader and after advice support to fill these gaps. 
•    Constantly review the existing processes to increase the quality towards the Retailers and end customers by eliminating waste. 
•    Judge and report dealer performance on escalated and investigated support cases and implementation activities.
•    Understand the customer needs and adopt the way of working to an efficient way to fulfil the expectations.
•    Support the National Sales Companies in technical questions by delivering answers via the defined channel. 
•    You will communicate directly with retailer staff 
•    You will be actively helping and coaching retailer staff to analyse and find root causes for technical deviations, to prevent future need for support.
•    You will work with Technical Reports and ensure follow up to closure of cases.
•    You will document complex technical issues towards the central organisation.
•    You will be connected and contribute to tasks and projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the support process

 

What you’ll bring

Other requirements:
•    A degree in automotive technology or equivalent experience within a vehicle technical support role, either at workshop level or dealer support level
•    Excellent level of knowledge of current vehicle technology, both basic mechanical as well as electronic vehicle systems and electric propulsion.
•    Fluent in English 
•    Strong computer literacy in MS office
•    Knowledge of TIE, VIADA advantageous
