Job Purpose
Responsible for color matching and tinting in all batches into QC. Evaluating if meets customer requriements while ensuing all safety procedure are followed. Ensure laboratory rules and procedure are followed by technicians by modeling expected behavior, communication with The Quality Control Supervisor. Calling out adjustments on batches, following Inspection plans and aligning with specific customer specifications
Following established procedures and guidelines, test and conduct routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished product, using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality.
Job Responsibilities
Must follow all established safety rules and procedures and demonstrate integrity while performing duties as per company’s Code of Conduct
Spray panels, service sprayguns with calibrations and maintenance.
Read color on various digital tools, Smart Chart, X-Rite, etc
Contribute improvements to standard operating procedures and quality control methods
Maintain calibration test plans where needed
Contribute to training curriculum
Assist and help maintain Process Confirmations and follow up actions
Help and identify potential causes of complaints, work on implementing actions from RCA
Activitly utilize 8D, 5Why, and PGR tools to improve quality and engaged in 5S activities
Helps sustain and improve organization in work areas
Job Requirements
2-4 years of color matching experience, including metallic OEM and Tier 1 experience is preferred
Microsoft Office skills required (Outlook, Word, Excel), Excel skill level intermediate to advanced, and SAP knowledge preferred
Knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and reactions as it applies to production techniques
Near vision- ability to read labels and see details up close with or without corrective lenses
Must be able to score a 32 or lower on a Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color test
Must have effective interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to chemical agents and be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Operation and control- Ablity to use equipment to perform duties of job safely and effectively
Mathematics- Knowledge of basic math including adding, subtracting, mulitplication, division, fractions and measurements
Operation Monitoring- Abitlity to watch gauges, dials, or display screens to ensure proper operation of equipment
Problem solving and critical thinking acumen- noticing a problem and giving input on how to solve it or identify root cause
