Quality Specialist – Introduction
As a graduate in a Scientific discipline with experience gained in a Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) role this is a rare opportunity to develop your career with a world expert in making coatings. We are now recruiting a PSRA Specialist to evaluate and validate data sources, ensure regulatory compliance and help resolve to customer queries for our Performance Coatings business.
Quality Specialist – The Role
• Promotes, develops and implements quality standardised procedures and systems to improve and maintain quality
• Ensures that all site employees are thoroughly familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality IMS’s, and are trained in the appropriate standardised procedures.
• Supports in external and internal quality audits.
• Active participation in the process to maintain quality certifications (e.g. ISO9001).
• Generates quality information by preparing required reports and maintaining relevant records.
• Provides assistance, gives advice and distributes information to customers, suppliers, sales and internal departments related to product quality.
• Actively deploys ALPS foundations and ALPS Quality Management primary processes.
• Is familiar and complies with all the applicable corporate as well as site and laboratory policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct, HSE and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards.
• Supports the sites continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leads or supports all root cause analysis relating to Quality.
• Performs investigations and works with LTS to drive Formula Change Requests in a timely manner.
• Supports the Production with any immediate Quality risks.
• Performs investigations for internal quality notifications and works with production to drive continuous improvement of quality processes.
• Manages the investigation and reporting of vendor quality defects and drives supplier performance reviews.
Quality Specialist – About You
• Educated to GCSE (or equivalent).
• Excellent IT and numeracy skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Team working and problem solving
• Ability to deliver results in a challenging environment
• Previous experience of supplier quality management
• Previous experience of working to ISO90001 or equivalent standards
• Demonstrate awareness and engagement of cross functional teams to deliver improvements.
• Knowledge and champion company values
• Awareness of customer needs balanced with cost effective production.
• Willingness to learn and share new practices
• Good awareness of processes and scheduling
• Effectively liaise with Customers, Community and other AkzoNobel visitors.
• Knowledge of paint manufacturing processes, procedures and policies
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Previous experience of working in Quality, Vendor Management or Chemicals desirable.
