Staff Accountant (Investments)
American National is actively seeking a full-time, Staff Accountant to join the investment team. To thrive in this position, you should have experience in accounting, enjoy highly detailed work, understand how to reconcile transactions, and familiarity with month end closing standards.
How you will make an impact:
Perform monthly close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and Board of Directors
Assist in preparing various reports and footnotes under GAAP and Statutory Accounting
Safeguard accounting internal control compliance
Identify opportunities for improvement
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Three years’ + work experience in accounting or relevant field
Basic understanding of GAAP accounting
Ability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods
Not required but beneficial:
Experience in Camera, Clearwater, and SAP. platforms
Applicable industry designations/certifications/training
