Overheads Controller

 

Financial planning, controlling and provision of management support in relation to the overhead costs, including headcount, of one or more business areas of BMW UK and Ireland.

 

What awaits you?

  • Devise and implement robust financial planning processes with Cost Centre Managers as part of the budgeting and forecasting rounds; ensuring full alignment and adherence to function/BMW AG timelines.
  • Challenge and support Cost Centre Managers on all aspects of their expenditure vs latest plans to ensure effective cost centre controlling and overall achievement of company targets.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial reporting at month end/year end by making the necessary accruals and adjustments through Cost Centre Manager discussions and wider accounting and business knowledge.
  • Deliver clear and accurate reporting and analysis to all key stakeholders for Overheads expenditure vs company targets; indicating risks and opportunities wherever possible to optimise business performance and ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Ensure Cost Centre Managers adhere to the Procure to Pay process to help safeguard Company resources.
  • Evaluate business cases/proposals and use judgement to provide guidance/recommendations to the relevant business areas and senior management.
  • Prepare control account reconciliations including analysis and investigation of reconciling items to ensure that accounts are fully reconciled with SAP IFT and in accordance with IFRS.
  • Support management decision-making by interfacing with Overheads Controlling Manager and Financial Controller in key tasks and analyses e.g. variance reporting, requests from BMW AG.

 

What should you bring along?

  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics or similar.
  • Professional accounting qualification highly desirable e.g. ACA, CIMA.
  • Finance / cost controlling experience with good business knowledge.
  • Highly numerate, ability to challenge the business and build relationships with non-financial business managers and to deliver high quality result within time pressured environment.
  • Aptitude for analysing & presenting information.
  • Strong communication skills across multiple channels and at all levels.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others to meet tight deadlines and achieve a high standard.
  • Good IT and systems knowledge, SAP desirable.
  • Highly inquisitive nature to be able to proactively investigate topics end-to-end autonomously.
  • Strong motivation and enthusiasm for innovation and modern technology/toolsets.
