Job Descrption

 As a Procurement Business Partner (BP), you will play a pivotal role in driving initiatives and projects to align procurement services and strategic supplier relationship management with the operational requirements of business areas. This role involves intense collaboration with business stakeholders across relevant countries, focusing on the three energy assets Steam (coal and biomass fired power plants), Gas (gas fired power plants) and Storage (Gas and Hydrogen storage facilities).

Your responsibilities

 

  • Drive initiatives and projects for the alignment of procurement services with strategic and operational requirements of business areas.
  • Establish a hand-in-hand partnership with business stakeholders across relevant countries, translating their needs into specific aspects of documented and aligned Business Procurement Strategy, Sourcing Plan, and Supplier Management.
  • Collaborate intensely, including joint workshops, to coordinate sourcing activities planning with business areas.
  • Regularly review Supplier Segmentation and Supplier Engagement Plans with business areas.
  • Actively engage in strategic supplier management to deliver additional value for our business, including Supplier Engagement Plans, identification of new suppliers relevant for business strategy, Supplier-Based Innovation, Partnerships, Low-Cost Sourcing, etc.
  • Drive special themes (e.g., sustainability, innovation, safety, cost awareness) while networking with peers and the industry to bring new solutions to the company's business areas.
  • Take overall end-to-end sourcing responsibility for specific strategic tenders incl. supplier selection, negotiation, and implementation of supplier contracts.
  • Execute the role of Project Procurement Lead Coordinator (PPLC) as the main contact for specific strategic projects for procurement-related issues (e.g., Tender Event Schedule, Strategic Decision (SD)/ Financial Decision (FD) content, …).
  • Ensure regular internal alignment with the Procurement managers involved in the projects of which the BP is the PPLC.
 

  

Your profile


  • University Education in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or comparable studies
  • Significant experience in procurement as a Category Manager or Procurement Manager in the energy industry Deeper knowledge of the services and products to be sourced are advantageous.
  • Proven track record of managing larger procurement projects and/or tender
  • Commercial and technical skills to understand the scope of large projects and engage effectively with project teams
  • Proven ability to manage a broad spectrum of stakeholders within the business, Procurement department, and vendors/suppliers.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to identify and escalate critical topics.
  • Good analytical mind-set with the ability to translate business needs into requirements for Procurement and Supplier Base
  • Excellent communication skills, creative and open-minded individual with a good sense of humor
  • International work experience, appreciation of cultural differences and willingness to travel bth nationally to our assets as well as internationally
  • Fluent English is required and a knowledge of additional languages would be a plus, esp. German.
