The team is responsible for the commercial and operational management of Uniper UK's 6.4GW asset portfolio, ensuring efficient asset optimisation through the appropriate selection of Dispatch, Trading, or use of the Balancing Markets from Day Ahead through to delivery.

Your responsibilities
- Schedule assets optimally to facilitate and meet energy contracts cost effectively, whilst seeking opportunity to deliver additional value in real-time through Wholesale Markets and Balancing Markets.
- Day to day interface with power station control rooms, power and gas system operators / traders and external customers.
- Ability to interpret various models, data and tools to formulate an asset and trading plan based on commodity prices and fundamentals over various timescales
- Ensuring all compliance rules such as REMIT, Transmission Constraint License Condition (TCLC), Inflexible Offers Licence Condition (IOLC) and Uniper policies are adhered to.
- Meet key optimisation metrics and contribute to successfully meeting all UK short term trading and optimisation KPIs.
- Completing operational tasks and sending notification and nominations as per power industry codes and Uniper procedures.
Your profile
Essential
- Strong numerical skills.
- Excellent time management.
- Experienced user of IT systems and highly proficient in MS office.
- Experience of working in an Energy Optimisation team or Shift Trading environment.
- Strong team player with ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Rapid and confident decision making when information may be incomplete.
- Highly developed attention to detail and a desire to ensure issues are fully resolved.
- Being proactive and actively seeking feedback to continuously improve.
Desirable:
- Coding language skills (such as Python, VBA or similar) advantageous.
- Previous experience in using algorithmic trading tools advantageous.
