We are seeking a candidate for the position of Shop And Carhouse Clerk (7677) 69th Street Motor Shop in the REE&M/REM 69th Street Motor Shop Department.

Start Rate of Pay: $21.52 | Top Rate of Pay: $28.69 | Union Job Grade 10

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance, provides logistical support to the location’s maintenance activities by moving material and supplies, ordering material, stocking material, receiving material, shipping material, maintaining and processing shipping manifest, logging records, as well as filling in for the Payroll Clerk as needed.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Input weekly payroll for hourly employees and managers and maintain attendance records for both.
2. Maintain employee records.
3. Perform "SHARE" transactions for hourly employees.
4. Creates and types correspondence, forms, memos, and templates.
5. Answer telephones.
6. File inspection and accident records. File various forms including invoices, packing slips, and work orders.
7. Order parts and materials for daily shop operation. Maintain inventory.
8. Order stationery supplies.
9. Distribute mail.
10. Issue and receive parts from hourly personnel.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must type 45 words per minute.
• Must have three (3) years office/clerical work experience.
• Must have knowledge of Windows XP, Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Mechanical and/or Electronic parts experience preferred.
