Role:- Quality Manager (12month Maternity Cover)
Location:- Coatbridge / Grangemouth (based at Coatbridge)
Salary:- £45,000 - £55,000 Depending upon experience
About the role
We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to cover maternity for 12 months predominantly based out of our Coatbridge site, but covering Grangemouth too. This role is integral to our daily operations and will assume responsibility for all quality processes and activities across both sites.
Responsibilities
To lead all site-based Quality Assurance (QA) activities in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring customer and compliance requirements are always met and maintaining required site/regional certifications. Co-ordinate with Central QA and site-based Quality Control (QC) and operations to ensure customer satisfaction.
Duties will consist of but aren’t limited to:-
- Responsible for Leading the site-based QA/QC team, ensuring all quality related requirements are met.
- Being an active member of the manufacturing plant leadership team who can lead by example as a change agent with strong coordination, communication and coaching skills.
- Maintaining ISO9001 and other relevant certifications for the site. Through a process driven approach develop the local level Quality management system in alignment with regional and / or global directions to enhance the value added benefits to the business (continuous improvement and best business practice sharing).
- Planning and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance to required internal and external standards. Support audits by 2nd or 3rd parties at site.
- Coordinate and lead all ongoing quality process measurements including IQC, IPQC, FQC etc.
- Ensuring all non-conformances (from internal failures, supplier/material issues or audit non-conformances) are logged, investigated, actioned and closed appropriately. Review effectiveness of corrective actions to confirm root cause identified and remove chance for repeat failure.
- Providing all reposrts and documentation for Quality Standards and audits, Ensuring calibration and testing requirements are met and maintained.
- Lead and participate in improvement projects.
- Support and guide QA/QC team and identify training and development opportunities. Work with other site functions to ensure understanding and involvement with QA/QC activities. Provide QA/QC training as required.
The Ideal Candidate will possess or be able to demonstrate:-
- Ideally educated to degree level or have relevant manufacturing experience.
- Experience of operating within quality environment.
- Flexible, highly motivated and driven with the ability to prioritise own workload, possess strong intellect, good logical fault-finding analysis capabilities and who can demonstrate the ability to make decisions and empower people to drive actions forward. Results orientated, with ability to deliver results in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and be a confident team player.
- Experience of working in a Quality assurance / Technical environment is essential for this role.
- Proactive and dynamic approach to health, safety and environmental situations.
- Be ambitious, driven with a hunger to succeed and deliver results.
- Proactive and a positive “can do” attitude.
