SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor – Outbound Logistics Customer is responsible for the activities and functions of the logistics department staff. Ensure the Customer Service Rating goal is achieved or exceeded. Drive continuous improvement through improved efficiency, cost reduction and/ or improved service delivery
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for day-to-day warehouse operations and supervision of shipper/receivers, gate keepers and material handlers
- Maintenance of PM4 SAP Virtual warehouse including cycle counts.
- Benchmark and implement world class material flow/warehouse concepts and strategies.
- Maintenance of Lay out of physical warehouse.
- Responsible for implementing new delivery strategies.
- Develop and implement inventory concepts.
- Develop logistics agreements: pack size, order quantity, ship frequencies, routings
- Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments and 600 level products.
- Support customer service function/activities as required.
- Achievement Customer Service ratings per plant targets
- Research and implement continuous improvement inventory practices.
- On going improvement of material flow and material management within the manufacturing facility and supply chain
- Cross functional communications with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Controlling
- Track and report inventory issues and coordinate any resolution
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Orientates, trains, mentors, supervises, co-ordinates and provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Business or Accounting Degree or Diploma preferred
- 5 years’ experience in logistics with material flow/automotive experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven skills in strategic implementation / department optimization
- APICS Certification (CPIM Designation) preferred
- Extensive experience working with MRP and J-I-T principals
- Demonstration of flexibility and adaptation to a changing environment
