Job Location
This position will practice in Duke University Hospital, inpatient unit (9200) as well as the outpatient Duke Oncology Treatment Center (OTC) located in the North Pavilion.
Job Summary
The OTC APP will provide direct patient care in the inpatient setting to patients during the pre-, peri- and post-chemotherapy periods in collaboration with Hematology/Oncology attending physicians and nursing staff. The age-specific scope of practice is between 18 yrs and end of life.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Dr. Hope Uronis (supervising physician and OTC medical director) as well as OTC Leadership, the Advanced Practice Provider’s primary focus is to augment the care of patients receiving care and treatment in the OTC. This includes:
Job Eligibility Requirements
Education
NP: Graduate of MSN or DNP accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
PA: Graduate of ARC accredited Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree Physician Assistant Program
Certification
NP: Any NP certification that treats adults (FNP, ANP, AGNP, AGACNP, etc.)
PA: PA-C
Licensure
NP: Must have unrestricted RN licensure issued by or recognized by the NCBON with authorization to practice as a NP
PA: Must have unrestricted license issued by NCMB with authorization to practice as PA
Both: Federal and State DEA independent license with prescriptive authority
Experience
APP experience is preferred, ideally Oncology/Hematologic Malignancy experience, but recent or new grads, graduating by August 2024, welcome to apply.
Job Hours
Full-Time, 40 hour week, Monday – Friday, Shifts rotate with 2 other providers to provide coverage during clinic hours, 8am – 8:30am
