This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.  We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.

Your Day-to-Day:

You will be one of Global Engineering & Component Services (GECS) senior technical leaders, focused on driving technical rigor for the AP1000 and AP300 new plant initiatives.

Your responsibilities specific to AP technologies will include:

1. Overseeing the change control processes (configuration control board, stage gates).
2. Coordinating technical issue resolution.
3. Leading technical presentations and conversations with regulators, customers, and potential customers, in cooperation with the Energy Systems Business Unit.
4. Evaluating innovation initiatives aligned with AP Technology and coordinate with project and BU leaders to assess potential implementation opportunities.

You will also have more general technical leadership responsibilities, in coordination with the other chief engineers. These will include:

1. Shared oversight of the Global Competency Model, including overall coordination of applicable disciplines and mentoring of the associated Discipline Technical Leaders.
2. Fostering technical excellence and leadership within the GECS community through coaching and mentoring to develop current and future technical leaders.
3. Ensuring Westinghouse is appropriately represented at key customer, regulatory agencies, and industry meetings, and recommending actions, strategies and Westinghouse responses to industry technical initiatives and programs.
4. Monitoring emerging technologies which can impact AP technology product lines and collaborating with executive management in development of strategic initiatives, business plans and process improvements.
5. Providing performance feedback regarding engineering personnel to management.
6. Providing an independent channel for communication of technical issues to management.

In addition, you’ll spend up to half your time contributing to individual projects and initiatives.

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• Multiple years of experience with AP1000 technology across multiple disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related engineering discipline. Preference for related master’s degree or higher.
• More than ten years of diverse nuclear industry experience.
• Demonstrated record of technical leadership within Westinghouse.
• PE preferred.
