Senior Environmental Engineer
This is a key position at the plant reporting to the Plant Environmental Manager. The role is hands on and the front line for environmental affairs. This position will work within the corporate strategy and implement local strategy and tactics.
Your Day to Day:
Responsible for facility environmental compliance in support of manufacturing and fabrication operations
Maintenance of the ISO 14001 EMS and facility environmental procedures
Reports on performance of the EMS to the Plant Manager for management review and as the basis for continual improvement
Ensures adequacy of environmental training, as required
Maintains and oversees keeping of environmental records, as required
Maintains working knowledge of permits and regulations applicable to the facility, and performs inspections to ensure compliance with the same
Ensures that all required environmental compliance monitoring data is collected, maintained, and transmitted in a timely manner
Responsible for analysis and trending of environmental performance data
Participates in compliance assurance and EMS auditing programs and conducts routine informal facility inspections to monitor compliance on a real-time basis
Supports corporate environmental efforts related to sustainability, permitting, reporting and data management
Manage environmental contractors
What you need to be successful in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related Sciences
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a regulatory compliance role
Preferred 10+ years of experience
Experience in:
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, solid and hazardous waste management and minimization, corrective action/legacy management plan
Clean Air Act, Title V, RMP
ISO 14001, Environmental Management System
Naturally occurring radioactive materials licensing and remediation
Groundwater plume monitoring and corrective action
Clean Water Act, wastewater management, permitting and minimization, surface impoundments
Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, TRI
Work with state and federal regulatory officials and manage consent decrees and special agreements
Spill Prevention, Countermeasures and Controls program
Stormwater
