What you’ll do 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Payroll Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international payroll processing for our EMEA and APAC regions, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering top-notch client service. As the Global Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with local laws and regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Hands-on processing of global payrolls for EMEA, LATAM and APAC regions, ensuring accurate data entry, and overseeing payroll-related tasks such as tax withholdings, benefits deductions, funding, and wage garnishments.
  • Support equity compensation processing for stock compensation (RSUs, stock options) activity in accordance with country regulations.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies.
  • Continuously review and streamline payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and Legal, to address payroll-related issues and ensure seamless integration with other business functions.
  • Partner with external vendors to stay up-to-date with payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment legislation in EMEA and APAC countries and ensure compliance in payroll operations.
  • Support payroll inquiries, navigate complex situations by recognizing problematic areas, and take ownership of communications through timely resolution.
  • Assist with testing new payroll earnings, deductions, accruals, and other new programs in a test environment.
  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with all levels across the organization, 3rd party providers, and others to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
  • Follow proper governance of payroll data, time and attendance, record keeping, and internal controls
  • Provide business continuity training for team members and ensure documentation is clear, accessible, and audit-ready.
  • Assist with special payroll projects as needed.

 

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in international payroll operations, preferably within a fast-paced publicly traded company environment.
  • Experience working in a publicly traded company
  • Ability to work independently, and coordinate multiple large projects through planning, prioritizing, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills required
  • Experience with Papaya Global and Workday a plus
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated technical and software ability
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR, Benefits, and Payroll interfaces and downstream impacts
  • Proactive, agile, number-sensitive, analytical, and a detail-oriented, critical thinker.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline- driven, and work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy.
