About this role

ExpressVPN is a global leader in online privacy and security. We’re looking for a talented, driven communications professional to help manage and strengthen our reputation around the world.

You will report directly to our Head of Consumer & Corporate Comms based in Singapore, to further enhance ExpressVPN’s position as a leader in the online privacy and security business. You will also help build and maintain ExpressVPN’s reputation with external stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of external communication strategies and plans that deliver brand and business value. Collaborate within the global communications team; cross-functionally with content, SEO, product, engineering, and other teams; and with senior leadership to shape strategy and craft compelling messaging and initiatives.
• Deliver a steady drumbeat of quality media coverage, building ExpressVPN’s brand awareness and thought leadership, including English and non-English speaking markets.
• Leverage your existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within general, tech, and other media to tell our stories.
• Creatively translate ExpressVPN’s leading technology and/or product features into compelling, impactful stories for a wide range of audiences.
• Creatively identify opportunities for us to inject our voice and perspective through newsjacking and proactive storytelling.
• Source, analyze, and package data to fuel coverage.
• Craft and edit press-ready copy—including press releases, executive quotes and bylines, and collateral—that lives up to our brand’s standards and values.
• Establish and manage relationships with non-profits, advocacy groups, and other organizations that align with and advance our mission.
• Work on integrated comms throughout the organization, with a focus on media relations.

Role Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience working in public relations and media relations.
• Exceptional media relations skills with demonstrable experience proactively identifying coverage opportunities and independently delivering on them.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Exceptional English writing and editing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Self-driven with a passion for strategic communications and public relations.
