As a Government Relations & Public Affairs Specialist, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining positive relationships between the organization and government entities.

Requirements

Roles and responsibilities:

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the local, regional, and national levels.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and regulatory bodies.
• Advocate for the organization's interests through strategic engagement with government stakeholders.
• Coordinate and participate in meetings, hearings, and legislative sessions to represent the organization's viewpoints.
• Conduct research and analysis on proposed policies and regulations that may impact the organization.
• Provide insights and recommendations on potential legislative and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to assess the implications of proposed policies on the organization's operations.
• Develop and implement public affairs strategies to enhance the organization's public image and reputation.
• Engage with the media to communicate key messages and respond to inquiries.
• Create and distribute press releases, statements, and other materials to convey the organization's position on relevant issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders.
• Organize and participate in community events, outreach programs, and public forums.
• Ensure the organization's activities align with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to develop and implement policies to mitigate regulatory risks.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public relations, communications, law, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of government processes, regulatory environments, and political landscapes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with media relations and public relations strategies.
