Job Descrption
QAC Governorships and Directorships
Application Deadline: 29 February 2024
Department: Volunteering
Employment Type: Flexible
Location: Harborne, Birmingham, UK
Description
We seek applicants from across all professional and personal backgrounds willing to give their time to our fantastic specialist further education college. We have a range of opportunities; as governors of the college and directorships (including as Chair) of our trading subsidiary, QAC Enterprises Limited, where commercial skills and expertise are especially needed.
Queen Alexandra College (QAC) receives most of its funding from local authorities, but is an independent college established as a charitable company. Our governors are company directors and charity trustees, who are responsible for strategic oversight of what we do.
QAC draws most of its students from the West Midlands area, but remains a national college including residential provision. It supports a diverse range of student/client abilities and needs through education, training, routes to independent living and employment. Whilst experiencing funding pressures in common with other education institutions, QAC is privileged to enjoy high demand for its places, with governors and staff committed to delivery of our four-year strategy.
We welcome interest in our governorships/directorships from people of all backgrounds who share our values and who are able to devote the time needed for the role, both for required governance meetings and visits, and for wider involvement as part of the QAC community.
