The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking a Coordinator, Foundation & Government Relations for our Advancement department. The Coordinator, Foundation & Government Relations works closely with the Director, Foundation & Government Relations at the Natural History Museum. It is an exciting time as we embark on new journeys of becoming a museum of, for, and with L.A.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintains a system to track institutional gifts and grants through the pipeline from project inception to reporting. This includes internal collaboration and communication to ensure proper acknowledgement once the funding is received.
Assists with prospect research, produces donor database queries and reports as requested.
Assists the Director Foundation and Government Relations with scheduling meetings and entering contact notes into the donor database.
Properly documents and maintains funder contact information in CRM. Coordinates with other departmental colleagues to send event invitations and manage RSVP lists.
Helps coordinate on-site visits for existing and prospective funders.
Assists with proposal writing and internal and external reporting, including monthly eBlasts to funders.
This position has the following requirements:
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
One to two years of administrative experience required, including familiarity with database management systems; related experience within the fundraising or non-profit fields preferred.
