Salary Scale: £39,888 - 51,503 per annum

The role sits within the Network Performance Board (NPB) delivery function of RDG’s Industry Operations Directorate which works closely with rail industry colleagues to aid facilitation in the delivery of constantly improving levels of performance.
·Key Responsibilities:
· Support the delivery of performance initiatives (delivered by other industry groups) via engagement in the Regions and Routes (including their respective Performance Boards), to support improving the punctuality and reliability performance outcomes of the rail network;
· Identify, capture, share and monitor performance initiatives as they evolve, working with fellow NPEMs to ensure they are considered for inclusion within performance strategies locally;
· Work closely with the NPB Network Performance Portfolio Manager and ensure that the key messages from NPB are being cascaded throughout the rail network to deliver a common understanding;
· Assist teams locally with RM3P assurance reviews in a facilitation role, monitoring outputs and codifying/sharing good practice;
· Engage in key meetings and develop industry partnerships including, but not limited to the below, to support the groups with relevant subject matter knowledge from a whole system perspective:
o Attendance at Regional Performance Boards (by exception and / or by mutual agreement);
o Attendance at prioritised Route Performance Boards;
o Attendance in partnership with RDG colleagues at NPB-charted Governance groups, where applicable.
· Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key industry stakeholders involved in performance management and improvement, including heads of performance and Network Rail equivalents and Regional / Route / Network Performance Board members.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate a high level of initiative and to work with significant autonomy. Consequently, the post holder will be expected to work without close supervision or guidance but is required to understand the need for collaboration and team working both across RDG and the wider industry.
The post holder will be required to understand complex performance problems which will require the post holder to exercise both personal initiative and sound analysis. Many of the issues/problems can be addressed using previous experience, but the most complex will mean seeking further advice from colleagues and subject matter experts within RDG teams and/or from industry stakeholders.
Where issues/problems are of a more complex nature and fall outside of the scope of the post holder’s experience and RDG policy, guidance may be sought from their line manager and/or Head of Operations and/or Director.
The post holder will need to be able to challenge existing industry thinking but also have the ability to influence senior stakeholders’ views to arrive at an agreed position. This will require the post holder to demonstrate personal credibility, subject matter expertise in the area of performance and to have strong negotiating and influencing skills.
Provide the NPB Team with inputs from key meetings to document progress as required through NPB.
